Hi,

My name is Bethany Cagen - psychotherapist, guide and midwife of authenticity and connection.

Together, my clients and I walk a path of curiosity and non-judgmental, present moment awareness in the therapy room (or sometimes outdoors in nature).

What I offer goes beyond what is typically offered in talk therapy. Of course I want to know your story (I love people’s stories!), but I also want to guide you deeper to explore your experience beneath your story. We will do this by listening closely to the body and paying attention to your inner voice.

Using a mix of somatic (body-based), mindfulness and ecotherapy tools, our work together helps to create new neural pathways to shift limiting thoughts and beliefs and help you step into a healthy place of empowerment and self-compassion.

Foundational to my work is a deep trust in the organic unfoldment of each person’s journey toward growth and healing. By attuning to our bodies and reconnecting to our inner wisdom, I believe (and have seen) that we can find more balance and joy in our lives.

I am a certified Hakomi therapist and utilize psychodynamic and attachment theory, trauma resolution, somatic therapy and Internal Family Systems. Nature and ecotherapy are immensely helpful resources to help clients feel more calm and find more spaciousness and support in their lives.

I also teach clients about their brain and nervous system and offer concrete skills to manage difficult emotions such as anxiety and overwhelm.

I look forward to learning more about you! Please send me a message and we can find a time to connect to see if we are a good fit to work together.
